The Trump administration is making an unusual move: senior officials are personally encouraging top U.S. banks to pilot Anthropic's latest AI model, Mythos. This direct push, reported by TechCrunch, blurs traditional lines between federal policy and corporate technology buying decisions.

Officials from the Treasury Department and the Office of Science and Technology Policy have held private talks with bank executives, suggesting Mythos for compliance, fraud detection, and customer operations. This coincides with the administration's broader "AI Acceleration Initiative," which promotes fast adoption of American AI, with banking as a key sector.
