Raj Jegannathan, a Tesla vice president who oversaw information technology and artificial intelligence infrastructure, has left the company after 13 years. He announced his exit Monday in a brief LinkedIn post, describing his tenure as "one of continuous evolution."

Jegannathan's departure follows a turbulent period for the automaker. Last year, he was unexpectedly shifted to lead North American sales after the previous head was dismissed. The move came as Tesla faced declining automotive revenue, a problem stemming from an aging vehicle lineup and brand perception challenges linked to CEO Elon Musk's political activities. Musk's work with the Trump administration and support for certain political figures has drawn sustained criticism from some consumers.

The company's 2025 financial results showed a 3% drop in revenue, the first annual decline in its history. Tesla is now grappling with the dual challenge of reinvigorating its core electric vehicle business while attempting to deliver on long-standing promises of fully autonomous driving technology. Jegannathan did not specify his next move, and Tesla has not commented on his exit. His responsibilities included critical areas like business applications and information security, leaving a significant gap in the company's operational leadership as it navigates this difficult phase.
