Samsung Electronics has kicked off mass production of the PM1763, a new enterprise solid-state drive designed to handle the heavy lifting in AI and high-performance computing environments. This is the company's first SSD to use the PCIe 6.0 interface, a significant step up in speed and efficiency for data centers that power today's most advanced artificial intelligence workloads.
The drive arrives at a time when AI training and inference are generating enormous volumes of data. To keep up, enterprise servers need storage that can deliver that information both quickly and reliably. Samsung says the PM1763 is built specifically to meet those needs, offering faster data transfers and improved power management compared to previous generations.
With this launch, Samsung is positioning itself to support the growing infrastructure behind AI, from cloud computing to on-premise data centers. The PM1763 is now available to major server and storage system manufacturers, marking a practical step forward for organizations scaling up their AI capabilities.
