A reported $231 million funding round for Euclyd, a Dutch AI chip startup, has drawn attention after accounts said Samsung and several investment firms participated. The claims have not been independently verified.

According to those accounts, the round was a 200-million-euro Series A co-led by Somerset Capital Partners, the Scaleup Europe Fund managed by EQT, and Innovation Industries alongside Samsung. Euclyd was described as founded in 2024 and working on AI inference chips using a different architecture from GPUs.

The same accounts attributed quotes to Bernardo Kastrup as Euclyd's CEO, though Kastrup is publicly known as a philosopher and computer scientist, not the head of an AI chip company. A claim that OpenAI's first chip is called the Jalapeño also could not be verified.

Because the core details remain unconfirmed, this report should be treated as unverified and not as established fact.
