A group calling itself Explosive Media is using artificial intelligence to craft a specific brand of political satire. Minutes after a recent foreign policy statement by former President Donald Trump, the group released a new video. It features a Lego-style Trump figure in a scripted animation, collaborating with Gulf state leaders and confronting U.S. generals.
This marks over a dozen such releases since February, with several attracting millions of views on major social platforms. While Iranian state accounts have used similar aesthetics, analysts note Explosive Media's output is more narratively complex. It is created by a team of pro-Iranian digital natives who demonstrate a sharp understanding of Western internet culture, leading some observers to suspect official backing. The group denies this.
A member, speaking anonymously, said they anticipated Trump's rhetorical shift. "We had material prepared," they explained. "We made minor edits and published."
The latest video incorporates details from recent diplomatic proposals, concluding with the Trump character holding a white flag and eating a taco—a visual pun on a critical acronym. The group framed the release as a victory announcement, quickly disseminating it across Telegram and X. The operation illustrates how non-state actors now leverage accessible AI tools to produce and instantly deploy persuasive media, targeting international audiences with calibrated messaging.
