Palantir Questions Whether European Military AI Tools Actually Work

American technology company Palantir has cast doubt on the reliability of European military artificial intelligence systems, saying their capabilities have not yet been tested in real combat conditions.

Luis Mosley, who leads Palantir's operations in the UK and Europe, said no one currently knows whether European competitors' products function at all. He argued that his company's edge comes from putting its technology into practical use.

The comments, reported by the outlet Rapporteur, arrive as the European Union works to reduce its reliance on foreign defense technology suppliers and pushes a "Buy European" principle.

Mosley criticized Brussels' approach to technological sovereignty, saying where a company is registered should not be the deciding factor. In his view, what matters more is whether the customer can control the technology it uses.

A Palantir representative confirmed the company holds no direct contracts with EU institutions, though it works with NATO and with the governments of several European countries, including France, the UK, the Netherlands and Sweden.
