OpenAI and Google have reached an arrangement that will bring OpenAI's frontier models to Google Cloud services, according to a report on the deal. Under the agreement, the latest OpenAI models are set to appear in Google's Model Garden within the coming weeks, joining more than 200 options already available there.
The Model Garden already offers access to Google's Gemini models along with open models such as Mistral, Llama, and Gemma, and Anthropic's Claude has been available for some time. Google says the addition makes it the only large cloud provider offering access to all three leading closed LLMs.
OpenAI notes that Microsoft remains its primary cloud partner. The OpenAI models will be available to run entirely on Google's infrastructure, with transactions handled through the Google Cloud Marketplace. For businesses with established Google Cloud spending commitments, that setup makes it easier to begin using GPT models in place of whatever they were using before.
