Nvidia has introduced a new product that packs seven of its Vera Rubin AI racks into a shipping container, the company's latest move toward offering complete systems for artificial intelligence computing.

The DSX Pod AI Factory is about the size of a standard shipping container and weighs roughly 28,000 kilograms (nearly 62,000 pounds). It is built to travel on a truck over normal roads, with all cabling and liquid cooling assembled at the factory.

"The only thing that has to happen when it gets to the site is it's placed in its location, connected to the rest of the other containers, and validated through final burning and testing," Ian Buck, Nvidia's vice president of hyperscale computing, said on a call with reporters this week.

According to Nvidia, the pod cuts the time for a new AI data center to begin serving tokens from six months to 14 days. The company said the system is aimed at customers worldwide and could help with deployment challenges facing European customers.

No price was announced, though analysts say a single Vera Rubin rack can cost more than $7 million. The DSX Pod is a reference design that will ship from Nvidia's manufacturing partners, including Foxconn, Gigabyte, Lenovo, HPE, Quanta and Pegatron. Nvidia expects deliveries to start in early 2027.

Nvidia, once a chip company, now supplies networking, storage and other data center needs. Its systems have grown from single graphics processing unit chips to servers with four or eight GPUs, then to entire racks, and now to the DSX Pod, a containerized building block with several racks already integrated.

"What we offer into one gigawatt went from about $18 billion or so per gigawatt, to $20-something billion per gigawatt, to now $40-plus billion per gigawatt," CEO Jensen Huang said recently on a podcast. "My sense is that's going to keep going up."
