Nvidia Teams Up With Major Financial Firms to Secure $500B for AI Buildout

Nvidia has announced a partnership with several large Wall Street financial institutions to raise more than $500 billion in third-party funding for AI infrastructure, including datacentres, chip factories, and power stations.

The company's CEO, Jensen Huang, called the move "a major milestone for Nvidia and the AI industry" in a social media post, sharing a photo with finance leaders involved in the deal. Nvidia confirmed it signed memorandums of understanding with Goldman Sachs, Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, and KKR. One source lists seven firms, while another names six.

Huang said many AI companies and cloud providers have strong demand for computing power but lack access to financing at the scale or cost needed to build quickly. The funding is meant to make AI factories more accessible to businesses and nations.

The announcement comes as big tech spending on AI is projected to exceed $730 billion this year. However, regulators have raised concerns. The Bank of England warned last month that AI debt financing could threaten financial stability if companies fail to deliver profits or face major disruptions. It also noted that financial firms may not have a full picture of their exposure to the AI sector, given varying levels of transparency across funding sources.

Nvidia did not disclose financial terms, individual firm commitments, or a timeline for deploying the planned $500 billion. Huang added that every industrial revolution has relied on infrastructure and external financing, calling AI factories "the infrastructure of the intelligence era."
