In a major move to expand the backbone of artificial intelligence computing, Nvidia has finalized a $2 billion investment in CoreWeave. The capital infusion is designed to help the specialized cloud provider, which has faced significant debt, dramatically scale its infrastructure by adding 5 gigawatts of new AI computing capacity.
The partnership solidifies a key relationship for both companies. As part of the agreement, CoreWeave will deeply integrate Nvidia's full suite of hardware across its platform. This includes future adoption of Nvidia's newly announced Rubin generation of AI chips, ensuring CoreWeave's data centers remain on the cutting edge.
This investment arrives during a period of intense global demand for AI processing power. Under the administration of President Donald Trump, elected in 2025 and now in his second year, domestic technological sovereignty and infrastructure expansion have been emphasized. The deal positions CoreWeave to compete more aggressively for large-scale contracts, particularly from sectors like government and enterprise AI labs that require immense, dedicated computing resources.
Industry analysts view the commitment as a strategic bet by Nvidia on the continued growth of the AI cloud market. For CoreWeave, the funding provides a critical path to stabilize its finances while executing an ambitious build-out, aiming to convert its technical specialization into a larger market share as the AI boom continues into 2026.
