In a significant move to enhance its customer engagement platform, Indian software firm MoEngage has acquired San Francisco-based startup Aampe in an all-cash deal. Although the financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed, sources indicate that the deal is valued at tens of millions of dollars. Aampe's innovative approach assigns a dedicated AI agent to each customer, enabling brands to personalize messaging based on individual behavior rather than traditional audience segments. With over 30 customers across the globe and a 150% growth in annual recurring revenue, Aampe's technology has already gained traction among notable brands such as Swiggy, Grab, and Taxfix.

MoEngage co-founder and CEO Raviteja Dodda believes that the acquisition will help the company win over customers currently using rival marketing platforms like Salesforce and Adobe. The move is part of a larger trend in the software industry, where companies are integrating AI into enterprise applications to drive autonomous decision-making. By leveraging Aampe's technology, MoEngage aims to provide more targeted and effective customer engagement solutions. The acquisition follows MoEngage's $280 million funding round six months prior and will see around 20 Aampe employees join the company, bringing its workforce to approximately 820 people.
