In a series of major deals, Meta has secured a massive, long-term supply of nuclear power to meet the soaring energy needs of its artificial intelligence projects. The company announced agreements on January 9, 2026, with three nuclear energy providers—Vistra Corp., Oklo Inc., and TerraPower LLC—to supply over 6 gigawatts of electricity through 20-year power purchase agreements.
The move highlights a fundamental challenge for tech companies leading the AI race: advanced data centers require immense, reliable, and low-carbon power.
