Meta and NVIDIA Forge Major AI Infrastructure Alliance

In a significant move for the technology sector, Meta and NVIDIA have solidified a long-term partnership to reshape the backbone of artificial intelligence development. The multi-year agreement commits Meta to a large-scale deployment of NVIDIA hardware, directly supporting the construction of next-generation data centers designed for intensive AI training and core social media operations. A key focus of the collaboration is improving energy efficiency, aiming for substantial gains in performance per watt across Meta's global infrastructure.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the unique scope of the project, stating, "Meta operates at a scale unlike anyone else, blending advanced research with massive infrastructure to run personalized systems for billions. We are integrating our full platform—from chips to software—to support their engineers as they build the next foundation for AI."

The partnership extends beyond chips. Meta will implement NVIDIA's Confidential Computing technology within WhatsApp, enabling new AI features while maintaining the platform's strict privacy standards. Furthermore, Meta's infrastructure will adopt the NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet networking platform, engineered to handle AI workloads with predictable, low-latency performance and improved power efficiency.

Engineering teams from both companies will work side-by-side to optimize cutting-edge AI models for Meta's services. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg framed the alliance as a step toward a bold vision: "By expanding our work with NVIDIA and building clusters with their Vera Rubin platform, we're advancing toward making personal superintelligence a reality for people everywhere."
