In a move to optimize its operations and reduce costs, Lucid Group has announced plans to cut its US workforce by approximately 18%. This strategic decision is expected to yield annualized cost savings of around $158 million. As part of this restructuring, the company's chief operating officer, Marc Winterhoff, has left the organization, and his role has been eliminated. The workforce reductions will affect full-time employees, contractors, and hourly production workers across various departments, including manufacturing.

Additionally, Lucid will be discontinuing the second shift of production at its AMP-1 factory. The company anticipates incurring cash charges of around $32 million related to severance and employee transition costs. This move comes after the announcement of Silvio Napoli as the incoming CEO, who is set to evaluate the company's business operations. Lucid had previously suspended its guidance, citing the need to reduce its inventory of vehicles, a common challenge faced by automakers.

As the company navigates this transition, it remains focused on its long-term goals and commitment to delivering high-quality electric vehicles.
