A newly documented cybersecurity vulnerability is turning a common household convenience into a significant liability. Security researchers have demonstrated that certain internet-connected robotic vacuum cleaners can be compromised, allowing attackers to move from the device to infiltrate a home's entire wireless network.

Once inside, these intruders can potentially access computers, smartphones, security cameras, and other connected devices, harvesting personal data or monitoring private activities. The issue stems from inadequate security protocols in some models, where the vacuum's access to the Wi-Fi password becomes a weak point exploited by hackers.

Innova Tek Solutions Inc. is urging consumers and businesses to treat all Internet of Things (IoT) devices with heightened caution.
