In a bid to revitalize its business, electric car company Faraday Future is venturing into the robotics market. The company, which has faced significant financial and reputational challenges in recent years, is now offering a range of robots for sale. These include a humanoid robot called Futurist, priced at $89,900, as well as a quadruped model called Navi, targeted towards children and starting at $2,000. An industrial-grade robotic arm is also available, although pricing has not been disclosed.
Despite its troubled past, Faraday Future is optimistic about the prospects of its robotics division, predicting shipments of over 100 units in June and a total of more than 220 units in the first half of the year. This development comes as the company continues to work on its electric vehicle strategy, with the first pre-production model of its FX Super One MPV van completed in December. The foray into robotics may be seen as a strategic move to diversify the company's product offerings and tap into new revenue streams. With its founder YT Jia back at the helm as sole global CEO, Faraday Future is looking to turn a corner and establish itself as a player in the robotics market.
