Anthropic has introduced Claude Docs, a feature that lets the assistant build documents directly inside a conversation. Ask for something like a one-page information sheet, and the result appears in the chat. Documents begin as private, though they can be shared with colleagues, and they can be edited within Claude or exported to Google Docs or Microsoft Word.
Slide and presentation creation is also arriving in chats, so users no longer need to visit Claude Design for that task. Slides land in the conversation, where they can be edited or downloaded as PowerPoint or PDF files.
Anthropic is additionally folding Cowork and Artifacts into a single interface. Cowork handles multi-step agentic tasks, such as reading work documents and producing files, slides and spreadsheets, while Artifacts are saved pieces of content like documents, HTML sites and diagrams kept in a sidebar. The company said Design was built for visual work and Cowork for larger work, but users grew confused about where to start, since work in one didn't carry over to the other. The changes, described as a "One Claude" offering, let Claude determine what a task needs and make Cowork and Design capabilities available from any conversation. They are rolling out to Pro and Max subscribers over the next few weeks on web, desktop and mobile, with Team and Free plans to follow soon.
