Beijing-based AI startup Moonshot announced Thursday that its Kimi models are being used by financial industry players, including investment bank CICC and venture capital firms such as Sequoia China, now known as Hong Shan.

The company launched Kimi for financial services, letting users pull data used for analysis and reports through partners including S&P Global Market Intelligence, Crunchbase, Wind, Tianyancha and local financial news outlets. Kimi can also reach the SEC's EDGAR system, the IMF, World Bank and the Fed's FRED site.

Subscriptions run from 49 yuan ($7.31) to 699 yuan ($104.23) a month, with data access varying by tier, a mobile app test showed.

In a promotional video, Deutsche Bank's Beijing branch manager Samuel Fischer said pairing stronger AI with professional expertise marks the real turning point. It was not immediately clear whether Deutsche Bank is a client; the bank did not respond to a request for comment.

Moonshot's Kimi K3 model, released in July, competes with leading U.S. models. The startup has reportedly filed confidentially for a Hong Kong IPO, though it says it does not comment on market rumors or speculation.
