In the world of enterprise software, a new challenger is gaining ground with remarkable speed. Campfire, a San Francisco startup founded in 2023 by John Glasgow, has secured $100 million in funding and doubled its revenue in a matter of months. The company is now being urged by its own customers to raise more capital, a clear signal of surging demand for its approach to financial software.

Campfire’s platform is designed to replace older accounting systems from companies like NetSuite. It uses artificial intelligence to automate complex tasks like revenue reporting and financial reconciliations. For finance teams, this means asking questions in plain English instead of writing database queries. One customer reportedly reduced its monthly financial close from 15 days to just three.

Glasgow, who previously helped sell Invoice2go to Bill.com for $625 million, built Campfire after seeing how outdated financial software forced companies to rely on spreadsheets. The company’s early client list, which includes firms like Replit and Decagon, has grown rapidly. In a recent interview, Glasgow stated the company is on track to multiply its revenue twentyfold this year.

A key differentiator is Campfire’s dedicated AI engineering. The company built its own specialized model for accounting tasks, moving beyond generic AI tools that often lack precision for financial work. This focus has attracted significant investment, including a $65 million Series B round in October 2025.

With a lean team and a substantial war chest, Campfire is now looking toward the public markets. Glasgow has expressed a clear ambition for 2026: to see companies go public while using Campfire to manage their finances. As legacy vendors scramble to add AI features, Campfire’s foundation-first approach is winning over a growing segment of the market, positioning it not just as another software vendor, but as a potential fixture for the next generation of public companies.
