Anthropic's flagship Claude Opus model has received a significant upgrade, now available to developers and businesses through Amazon Bedrock. The new Claude Opus 4.7 version is positioned as the most capable iteration yet, targeting complex production tasks in coding, knowledge work, and long-duration automation.

This release is supported by a redesigned inference engine within Bedrock, which AWS says improves availability for consistent workloads while managing sudden demand spikes. A core feature for enterprise adoption is zero operator access, ensuring that neither Anthropic nor AWS personnel can view customer prompts or model outputs.

Anthropic reports measurable gains across several benchmarks. For agentic coding—where AI autonomously handles development tasks—Opus 4.7 shows improved performance on systems engineering and complex reasoning. In professional knowledge work, it demonstrates a stronger ability to navigate vague requests, make clear assumptions, and self-check its output. The model also now supports high-resolution image analysis, aiming for better accuracy on detailed charts, documents, and user interfaces.

Accessing the model follows established Bedrock patterns. Users can experiment in the web-based Playground or integrate it via API. Bedrock offers multiple pathways, including its native Converse and Invoke APIs, as well as direct calls to the Anthropic Messages API using the company's SDK or AWS command-line tools. The new inference system is designed to scale, queuing requests instead of rejecting them during peak loads, with baseline capacity set at 10,000 requests per minute per region.

Claude Opus 4.7 is live now in several AWS regions, including US East, Tokyo, Ireland, and Stockholm. As with any model upgrade, teams may need to adjust their prompts and integration code to fully leverage its capabilities.
