Anthropic has broadened its work with the US government under a new agreement offering a 40% discount on its Claude AI model to public-sector bodies.
The reduced rate covers state and local authorities as well as tribal and other territorial governments, the company said. Anthropic estimates the deal could save customers up to $1 billion, and no minimum spending threshold applies.
Claude is currently used by roughly 500 federal, regional and local government organizations in the US, according to the company. Weekly active users of Claude for Government have grown about eightfold since February, while use across federal civilian agencies has risen roughly 20-fold over the year.
