In a move to breathe new life into older hardware, AMD has released FSR Upscaling 4. 1 for its Radeon RX 7000-series GPUs. This update brings significant improvements to image quality and gameplay smoothness for computers equipped with these graphics cards, which utilize the RDNA 3 graphics architecture. Initially promised for a July release, AMD has delivered on its commitment ahead of schedule.

The company is also working on extending support for FSR 4. 1 to RDNA APUs, with plans to develop lightweight machine learning models that will enable the technology to run on an even broader range of devices. Furthermore, AMD intends to bring FSR 4. 1 to RDNA 2 cards in early 2027, expanding the reach of this upscaling technology.

With over 300 games already supporting FSR 4. 1, according to AMD's Jack Huynh, the list of compatible titles continues to grow. Recent announcements include upcoming support for Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations and Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, set to launch on July 7th and July 9th, respectively. This development underscores AMD's commitment to enhancing the gaming experience across its product lineup, ensuring that users of older graphics cards can enjoy improved performance without needing the latest hardware.
