Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the general availability of Amazon EC2 G7 instances, which are designed to deliver high-performance GPU acceleration for AI inference, graphics, and data analytics workloads. These instances are powered by NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs and custom sixth-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, resulting in up to 4. 6 times faster AI inference performance and up to 2. 1 times faster graphics performance compared to the previous generation.

The G7 instances are well-suited for a broad range of GPU-enabled workloads, including AI inference, graphics rendering, video transcoding, and data analytics. Key improvements in the G7 instances include faster GPU memory, high-performance networking and storage, and advanced video encoding and decoding engines. With up to 8 NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs and 256 GB of total GPU memory, these instances provide enhanced performance for compute-intensive workloads. The G7 instances also support multiple operating systems, including Amazon Linux, Ubuntu, RHEL, and Windows Server, with comprehensive NVIDIA driver integration.

AWS customers can start using the G7 instances today in the US East (Ohio) and US West (Oregon) regions, with multiple purchasing options available, including On-Demand, Savings Plans, and Spot Instances.
